BAHAWALPUR, September 7, 2026: Secretary Forest, Wildlife & Fisheries Department Punjab Tahir Zafar Abbasi, accompanied by the Additional Secretary Forests, Personal Secretary Forests, Chief Conservator South Punjab Multan and Conservator Forests, National Park Lal Suhanra Circle, visited Lal Suhanra National Park Forest and the Cholistan Range to review ongoing plantation and forest management activities.
During the visit, Deputy Conservator Haroon Tufail, along with his field team, welcomed the visiting officials and provided a detailed briefing on plantation work and other ongoing operations in Lal Suhanra National Park, Bahawalpur, and the Cholistan Range.
The delegation inspected various sites and reviewed the progress of plantation activities being carried out in the forest areas. The briefing also covered other field operations and measures being undertaken for the protection, conservation and management of forest resources in the region.
The visit provided an opportunity for senior officials to assess forestry activities on the ground and review the implementation of ongoing initiatives aimed at increasing green cover and strengthening environmental conservation in South Punjab.
Lal Suhanra National Park, located in the Bahawalpur region, represents an important natural landscape where forest, desert and wetland ecosystems converge. Effective forest management and plantation activities in the area are therefore important for supporting biodiversity, combating land degradation and strengthening the ecological resilience of the region.
The senior officials emphasized the importance of effective field monitoring, timely completion of plantation activities and continued efforts to protect and sustainably manage the region’s natural resources.
The visit reflects the Punjab Forest, Wildlife & Fisheries Department’s continued focus on strengthening field-level supervision and advancing plantation and conservation initiatives across South Punjab.
