The current government has declared August 14 (Wednesday) as a public holiday to mark the country’s 78th Independence Day.
All government offices, educational institutions, banks and financial institutions will remain closed on this momentous occasion, allowing citizens to participate in the festivities and reflect on the country’s journey since independence in 1947.
