The Deputy Commissioner, Lahore submitted a reply to the Lahore High Court (LHC) on the objection raised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public meeting at Minar Pakistan on August 14 and informed that the plea was dismissed.
“Lahore August 14 is Independence Day, citizens celebrate Independence Day and citizens visit Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14,” said a lawyer from Lahore DC.
“Due to law and order situation, PTI cannot be allowed to hold rally,” DC Lahore.
LHC judge Muzamil Akhtar Shabbir heard Akmal Khan’s plea.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon had earlier rejected the request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a jalsa in the capital.
The Deputy Commissioner gave several reasons for rejecting PTI’s objection.
