The threat of the polio virus looms large in Lahore as the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the detection of the virus in sewage samples of the Punjab provincial capital.
Sources revealed that poliovirus was detected in a sample from the Gulshan Ravi disposal station. The samples were sent to the WHO on August 7 for examination.
The anti-polio campaign will be launched with the detection of poliovirus from the sample. According to the polio eradication program there, an anti-polio campaign will be launched on September 10 in specific areas.
