An innocent six-year-old girl was selling tissue papers on the streets. She was walking around with a smile on her face. Seeing the customers coming, she would put her small basket in front of them and say:
“Do you want tissue papers?”
The minor girl passed by a woman and saw her crying. The innocent girl stopped by her. The woman also saw this cute little girl with teary eyes who was offering her a packet of tissue papers with a beautiful smile on her face. She unintentionally took out a tissue paper and started wiping the tears from her eyes. She took out the price of the tissue papers from her purse and looked to give it to the girl, but she has left. She liked that little smiling girl very much. The woman sat on an empty bench near her, thought for a moment and then texted her husband on her mobile:
“Dear! I am sorry for what happened and regret it. Forgive me for that. Your stance was absolutely correct.”
The women’s husband who was sitting in a nearby hotel got worried after receiving this pleasant message from wife. A calm smile spread across his face. The couple had a fight over some domestic issue. In his joy, he called the waiter and happily handed him Rs1000 and said, “This is yours.” The waiter couldn’t believe it and said, “The tea only cost Rs50?”. The rest is your tip, it seemed to be done…
A deep smile ran on the face of the waiter. They often get tip but small amount and today’s tip was a large amount more than his daily income. He went to the old poor woman, who was selling chocolates and toffees on the foothpath. He bought a Rs20 chocolate, smiled and handed Rs500 to her. The rest of the amount is for you, he said and went back to his work.
The old woman was looking at the Rs500 note again and again, which she had got without any effort or help. There was a huge smile on her face. Her heart was jumping with joy, she packed her belongings lying on the ground and went straight to the butcher shop, how long had it been since she and her granddaughter had eaten meat. They wanted to eat meat, but their resources did not allow it, today their wish was being fulfilled.
She bought meat with a smile and went home The old mother cooked the meat with great effort and enthusiasm and started waiting for her little sweet granddaughter, who was her entire universe, how happy would she be to eat meat today?
She was in sink in deep thoughts when her granddaughter, who was selling tissue papers, entered the house smiling and she had a smile on her face more than usual.
Today’s story is lesson for all of us that pleasures of the people are interlinked and if you bring smile on someone’s face, the Creator will make create opportunity of smiles for yourself. Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) in his Hadith guided his Ummah: “Bringing smile on someone’s face is also charity.”
