The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remains firm in its stance that all Champions Trophy matches will be held in Pakistan.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remains firm on its stand with the slogan “Pakistan event in Pakistan”.
The PCB is actively preparing to host all eight teams at three venues and is investing heavily in stadium upgrades for the Champions Trophy.
Despite the hybrid model and Plan B discussions, the PCB is steadfast in its preparations and plans to push its position strongly in the upcoming ICC meeting.
PCB sources stress that while it is the ICC’s responsibility to have contingency plans, Pakistan is focused on maintaining its position. They argue that apart from India, all the teams involved have played in Pakistan before, so the reluctance to visit India is weak.
The sources further said that if India refuses to come to Pakistan, the Pakistan team will retaliate by not participating in the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
The PCB is expected to take a tougher stance compared to previous years, making it difficult to shift matches from Pakistan in 2024.
