According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan witnessed a significant inflow of foreign investment totaling $1.9 billion during the financial year 2023-2024.
The SBP report highlighted that foreign investment reached $17 million in June alone.
The central bank report highlights significant investment from China, Hong Kong and the UK. Chinese investors led the way with $57 million, followed by Hong Kong with $36 million and British companies with $27 million.
The PowerCaps sector attracted the highest foreign investment totaling US$80 million, with the oil sector receiving US$30 million.
This influx of foreign investment reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential, particularly from key regions such as China and Hong Kong.
