Pakistan entered the international space race for exploration and launched its first mission to the Moon.
The mission was launched with Chinese assistance from China’s Hainan Space Center. The 7 kilogram satellite was developed by the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad. It was developed in two years.
The launch of the ICube Qamar satellite was broadcast live on websites and social media platforms. The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Group (Suparco) launched the first satellite into lunar orbit. Moon iCube will reach lunar orbit in five days.
With the launch of the mission, Pakistan became the sixth country in the world to go to the moon. iCube Q is associated with China’s Chang’e 6 mission. The National Anthem was played as the gambling ICUbe opened.
Built in collaboration with Suparco and China’s Shanghai University, iCube Q will orbit the Moon equipped with two optical cameras to capture images for research purposes.
ICUbe gambles together with shippers from France, Italy and Sweden.
The teachers of the department were happy with the milestone and called the development a matter of pride.
Dr. Rahman Mehmood, director of the Small Satellite Technology Project, said that our neighboring countries and many other countries are far away in space, so we are thinking of trying to develop the technology.
After two years of design, the iCube Q was successfully tested for eight months. The mission will remain in lunar orbit for six months.
The students associated with the project are also very excited about this achievement.
Rabab Sara, a student involved in the project, said that we should celebrate this big change in the space industry and be proud of this great achievement.
Another student, Abdul Muez Khan, said it was a great moment for all of us, Pakistan’s aerospace industry should be proud of Sparco.
26 years ago in May, Pakistan became the first nuclear power in the Islamic world. By sending its first mission to this month, May 3, it marks a milestone in the space exploration race. The iCube Moon mission will reach lunar orbit in five days. With this proud achievement of the country, the professionals and students associated with the project are happy with this great achievement.
Pakistan, the first in the Islamic world to launch a nuclear-powered moon, is also a sign of significant progress on the space front.
