In a concerted effort to curtail criminal activities, law enforcement agencies across Punjab conducted a series of 6,500 raids targeting drug traffickers’ hideouts.
The operation resulted in the booking of 3,650 accused persons while 3,660 drug dealers were arrested.
Notably, the authorities successfully seized 2,030 kg of charas, 39 kg of heroin, 8 kg of ice and a substantial 60,400 liters of liquor from the possession of the arrested persons.
In addition to drug raids, police efforts have led to the recovery of significant valuables.
A total of Rs 286 crore in cash, 92 tolls of gold, stolen items worth Rs 263 crore, 1550 motorcycles and vehicles, 730 mobile phones and 170 cattle were recovered from the possession of the criminals and returned to their rightful owners.
The success of law enforcement agencies extended to the seizure of 2,855 illegal pistols, 252 rifles, 35 revolvers, 231 handguns and 118 Kalashnikovs.

In addition, the police arrested 8,310 declared offenders (PO), 5,870 fugitives from justice and 2,266 targeted offenders. A total of Rs 183 crore was recovered from 735 gangsters during the operation.
In an effort to improve public service, the police issued 71,780 identity cards, facilitated 15,025 tenant registrations, processed 66,030 verifications and processed 9,864 loss reports through police Khidmat centres.
As part of its duties, the traffic police issued licenses to 1,293,900 citizens and collected Rs 459 crore in fines for offenses which contributed to the exchequer.
In addition, 18,410 challans were issued as part of anti-smog operations, resulting in the seizure of 8,050 vehicles and a cumulative fine of Rs 6 lakh imposed on violators.
This comprehensive law enforcement initiative not only addresses the immediate threats posed by criminal elements, but also demonstrates the commitment of the police force to maintain law and order across the province.
The operational results reflect significant progress towards a safer and more secure environment for residents.
