NUST Green Walk Promotes Sustainability, Fitness and a Drug-Free Lifestyle

ISLAMABAD: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) organised a Green Walk at its Islamabad campus, bringing together members of the university community to promote environmental responsibility, sustainability and healthy living.

Led by NUST Rector Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif, the walk marked the 10th anniversary of the International Day of University Sport (IDUS).

The activity was part of the International University Sports Federation’s (FISU) global initiative, “10 Years – 10 Kilometers,” which encourages universities around the world to organise a 10-kilometre sporting or physical activity.

Addressing participants at the conclusion of the walk, Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity in building a healthier, more energetic and balanced community.

He encouraged the NUST community to make physical activity, wellness and healthy choices a regular part of everyday life.

The event also raised awareness about drug abuse and promoted a healthy, active and drug-free lifestyle.

The Green Walk reflected NUST’s commitment to encouraging environmental responsibility, physical well-being and positive lifestyle choices among students, faculty and staff.
