ABBOTTABAD: In a renewed effort to promote environmental conservation and climate resilience, Muhammad Asif Khan, Founder of Nature News Network, led a tree plantation and environmental awareness campaign at Koh-e-Bulyana, Union Council Sherwan, Abbottabad, on Sunday.
The initiative was organized in collaboration with Tanawal Welfare Organization (R), WWF-Pakistan, Pakistan Youth Parliament, and the Forest Department, bringing together volunteers, youth, environmental activists, and members of the local community.
The campaign aimed to encourage tree plantation, raise awareness about environmental protection, and inspire collective action against the growing impacts of climate change. Participants planted saplings and highlighted the importance of protecting forests, restoring ecosystems, and preserving Pakistan’s natural heritage.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Asif Khan said that tree plantation is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change, improve air quality, and conserve biodiversity. He stressed that every tree planted today represents an investment in a healthier, greener, and more climate-resilient Pakistan.
He urged citizens, particularly young people, to take an active role in environmental protection by participating in plantation drives and adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives. He emphasized that meaningful climate action requires the collective efforts of government institutions, civil society organizations, and local communities.
Representatives of the collaborating organizations also reiterated their commitment to promoting environmental awareness and supporting initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and ecological conservation.
The organizers expressed hope that such community-driven campaigns would inspire more people to join hands in protecting forests and natural ecosystems, ensuring a cleaner and greener environment for future generations.
The event concluded with a pledge by participants to continue supporting tree plantation efforts and environmental stewardship, reaffirming that collective action is essential to building a sustainable and climate-resilient Pakistan.
