New York: A new report by Human Rights Watch has accused technology company Meta of systematically censoring pro-Palestinian posts on the company’s social media platforms.
The 51-page report accuses Meta of removing thousands of posts, including pro-Palestinian peace posts.
Since the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been attacking Gaza, in which more than 20,000 Palestinians, including children, have died.
The war-torn enclave of two million people, nearly half of whom are children, has been facing a severe humanitarian crisis since Israel imposed illegal sanctions on Gaza.

Human Rights Watch said in a statement that Meta’s censorship of pro-Palestinian posts is adding to the suffering of already oppressed Palestinians.
According to the Human Rights Watch, the organization reviewed 1,050 cases of online censorship in more than 60 countries.
The report identified at least 100 cases of censoring of pro-Palestinian posts. These cases include removal of content, suspension or deletion of accounts, decreased engagement with content, and the inability to tag or follow accounts.
The report comes at a time when US Senator Elizabeth Warren has written a letter to Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg demanding information on allegations of censorship of pro-Palestinian posts. What is it.
