The research examined the effects of marriage on people’s personalities. To do this, the relationship between marital status and emotional health was analyzed. Participants were divided into three groups: one group consisted of married couples, another group included single individuals, and the third group included individuals who wanted to marry but were facing difficulties.
The researchers assessed the emotional health, life satisfaction, happiness, and hopefulness of these individuals. The results showed that marriage has a significant impact on emotional health.
According to the researchers, after entering the bond of marriage, people experience an increase in positive emotions and greater life satisfaction. They found that married individuals reported feeling happier compared to single individuals.
