KP Assembly: Suraya Bibi nominated for Deputy Speaker

PESHAWAR: In a historic move, Suraya Bibi’s name has been officially confirmed for the post of Deputy Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, marking a historic shift in the political landscape of the region.

According to reliable sources in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party leadership has pushed for a woman to fill the role of vice-chairman. As a result, Suraya Bibi emerged as the front runner for the position.

Hailing from PK-1 Chitral constituency, Suraya Bibi secured victory in the general elections representing Banu, Chitral and c regions.

In addition, she serves as the Vice President of the Malakand Women’s Wing of Tehreek-e-Insaf and is known for her dedicated social work in the community. Notably, Suraya Bibi has a Master’s degree in Sociology, underlining her academic credentials.

This decision follows in the footsteps of Mehr Taj Roghani, who previously held the esteemed position of Deputy Speaker in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Suraya Bibi’s nomination reflects a concerted effort towards gender inclusivity and representation in the province’s legislative affairs.
