In China, a 26-year-old man, after being abducted as an infant, reunited with his wealthy family 25 years later and turned down their offer of family wealth.
Shi Qinghuai was kidnapped on January 20, 1999, when he was only three months old. After over a decade of searching by his parents, who own several companies, the efforts finally paid off last December 1, when Shi was reunited with his family.
Shi’s life dramatically changed overnight. Internet users quickly labeled him as the “second-generation rich orphan” as he became part of a wealthy family. However, Shi had different thoughts.
In a December 5 interview, Shi revealed that he had declined his father’s offer of a flat and car. Instead of expensive gifts, he asked for an apartment where he could live with his future wife after marriage, expressing his desire to marry his girlfriend soon.
