Defense Minister Khawaja Asif raised the issue regarding the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Judiciary, pointing out the staggering sums pending litigation.
In his latest tweet, he emphasized the urgent need for judicial intervention and revealed that a substantial amount of Rs 742 billion is pending a decision in the Supreme Court, while another Rs 1700 billion is pending a judicial decision.
Expressing his long-standing concern, Asif mentioned that he had raised the issue in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) a few years back.
He expressed determination to uncover the root of this persistent problem and hinted at systemic issues involving collusion between the FBR, tax evaders, and the judiciary.

However, he emphasized that honesty and patriotism are essential to solving these problems and called for joint efforts to effectively solve the problem. Asif’s remarks shed light on a critical issue requiring immediate attention and concerted action for the betterment of the nation.
