The protest, held at Shobra Chowk in Nowshera, saw the participation of local journalist associations, business leaders, and PTI political representatives. Journalists condemned TMO Shahana Sikander’s statements, criticizing her for alleged political influence and disregard for merit. Among the journalists present were Nadeem Mishwani from Dunya News, Shehenshah, also known as Shah Ji, the Bureau Chief of Daily Pegham, Nasir Khan from 92 News, Wajid Khan, Bureau Chief of Daily Pakistan, Ruwam Bacha, Bureau Chief of Daily Taqat, Muhammad Asad from GTV News, Majid Khan from Mashriq TV, Shoaib Awan, Bureau Chief of Daily Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Ehsan from Sach News, Shahzad Khan from Capital TV, Farhat Shah from Khyber News, Rooh-ul-Amin from News One, Adnan Chaudhry from GNN, and other journalists, political leaders, and business figures.
The protesters demanded the immediate transfer of the allegedly incompetent TMO from the district and warned that if she is not removed, they would protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence. Journalists insisted that TMO Shahana Sikander issue a video apology for her statements. Until then, protests will continue, with the next demonstration set to take place directly outside the TMO’s office.
