An auspicious event took place at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in celebration of the completion of the Phase 1 Collaboration Agreement and to sign the Phase 2 MAHSA project, which is a five-year collaboration agreement between the University of Cambridge UK and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Engr. Prof. Dr. Kamran chaired the program. Prof. Dr Amir Sohail The Dean Faculty of Arts and languages also graced the event Other participants from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur included Dr. Abid Shahzad, Director of International Links; Dr. Samia Khalid, Chairperson of the Department of History; Dr. Farooq Ahmad, Chairperson of the Department of Anthropology; and Mr. Waqar Mushtaq and Dr. Moazzam Khan Durrani, collaborators of the MAHSA project. Participants were Prof. Dr. Cameron Petrie Princiapl Investigator from the University of Cambridge, Dr. Rebbeca Roberts, Director of the MAHSA Project, and Dr. Azadeh Wafadari, Training Coordinator, Afifa Khan Project Coordinator, Pakistan.
Mr. Waqar Mushataq delivered an opening remark and officially introduced all present from IUB, whereas Dr. Rabbeca Roberts introduced the participants from Cambridge University. After the official introduction, Prof. Dr. Cameron Petire presented the audience some background on the MAHSA project’s scope and its first phase accomplishments. Following his talk, Dr. Rebbeca talked about the Phase 2 roadmap until 2029. Dr. Abid Shahzad from the IUB gave a briefing on the accomplishments of the IUB’s international Linkages office and also covered the cooperation outlined in the collaboration agreement.
Prof. Dr. Kamran concluded the session with a vote of gratitude and the exchange of documents of a five-year collaboration agreement between the two parties (IUB, University of Cambridge). Dr. Kamran praised Mr. Waqar Mushataq and Dr. Moazzam Khan Durrani on their efforts in completing the first phase agreement and extending it.
