Islamabad: The issue of passport delays for those traveling abroad has been resolved.
The installation of new, modern passport printers has been completed, and with the arrival of these new printers, the passport department’s printing capacity has doubled.
Passport and Immigration authorities have stated that with the help of 10 new printers, the production capacity has increased by twofold, and now 40,000 passports are being printed daily, compared to the previous daily capacity of 20,000 passports.
DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi mentioned that 7 additional modern machines will soon arrive at the passport headquarters, and two printers have been ordered for printing e-passports.
He further added that with the arrival of the new printers, there will be a significant increase in printing capacity, and the backlog is being cleared on a daily basis.
