ISLAMABAD: In a targeted operation, Islamabad Capital Police (ICP) teams arrested 14 members associated with drug peddler gangs.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 2,095 grams of heroin, 3,962 grams of hashish, 60 liters of liquor and 18 grams of ice from the suspect.
This initiative was launched in response to specific instructions from Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Officer-in-Charge of Islamabad Police.
The move aims to strengthen the crackdown on criminal elements and ultimately aim to eliminate crime in the city. On Friday, a police spokesman drew attention to these efforts.
Acting on the directions, teams from Shalimar, Tarnol, Sangjani, Koral, Kirpa, Humak and Bhara Kahu police stations successfully nabbed 11 drug peddlers.
Subsequent searches led to the discovery of 4,720 grams of heroin, 2,220 grams of hashish, 46 liters of liquor and 112 grams of ice.
The arrested individuals now face legal action, with cases officially registered against them. The ongoing investigation aims to reveal more details about their activities.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, an officer of the city police in Islamabad, has instructed all senior officials to crack down consistently and effectively against those involved in drug trafficking.
