ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Wednesday released 391,900 cusecs of water from various rim stations, while the total inflow into the river system was recorded at 597,500 cusecs.
According to IRSA, the water level at Tarbela Dam on the Indus River stood at 1,514.11 feet, which is 112.11 feet above its dead level of 1,402.00 feet. Water inflow into the reservoir was recorded at 306,700 cusecs, while the outflow stood at 181,400 cusecs.
At Mangla Dam on the Jhelum River, the water level reached 1,181.60 feet, remaining 131.60 feet above the dead level of 1,050 feet. The dam received an inflow of 90,300 cusecs, while 10,000 cusecs of water was released.
IRSA data showed that water releases at major barrages included 284,200 cusecs at Kalabagh, 195,700 cusecs at Taunsa, 122,300 cusecs at Guddu, and 53,000 cusecs at Sukkur.
Meanwhile, 60,800 cusecs of water flowed through the Kabul River at Nowshera, while 122,800 cusecs was recorded in the Chenab River at Marala.
The latest figures reflect increased river flows amid the ongoing monsoon season, with water levels at Pakistan’s major reservoirs remaining well above their respective dead levels.
