Islamic University receives Rs 144.5 million Saudi grant for employee allowances

ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has received a grant of Rs 144.50 million from Saudi Arabia to support ad hoc relief allowances for university employees during the 2026-27 financial year.

The funding forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader financial assistance to the university and is intended to support employees across Basic Pay Scale (BPS) grades 1 to 21.

Employees and staff of IIUI expressed appreciation to university President and Acting Rector Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed for his efforts in securing the release of the grant from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the university, the allocation is part of the Saudi Support Fund, which provides financial assistance for recurring expenditures, infrastructure development, faculty development and improvements in academic quality.

The university said the latest grant continues Saudi Arabia’s longstanding financial support for the institution, which has received assistance from the Kingdom over successive years.

The funding is expected to help the university meet its employee allowance commitments while broader Saudi assistance continues to support institutional operations and development priorities.

University employees acknowledged the continued financial cooperation and thanked the administration for facilitating the release of funds.
