Islamabad: Weekly prices of essential commodities in the country registered an increase of 0.94%. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in the week ending June 20, prices of 5 basic daily necessities decreased, 21 items remained stable, while prices of 25 items saw a slight increase.
During the last week, petrol became cheaper by 3.76%, diesel by 0.84%, basmati rice by 0.08%, lentils (masoor) by 0.08% and chicken by 0.05%.
On the contrary, the price of tomatoes increased by 65.84%, potatoes by 5.61%, onions by 3.78%, bananas by 3.29%, LPG by 2.44%, cigarettes by 1.67%, lentils (moong) by 1.53%, garlic by 1.29%, fresh milk by 0.95%, eggs by 0.83%, georgette by 0.28% and shirting by 0.17%.
