More than 450 Indian pilgrims, who came to Pakistan to participate in the 185th birthday celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, arrived at Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, on Monday morning.
During three days, pilgrims will perform religious rituals and visit various holy places.
On arrival, the Indian Sikh pilgrims were warmly welcomed by the local community and expressed their deep respect and friendship. “The love of the Pakistani people drew us here,” said one pilgrim, expressing a positive sentiment shared by many. “I feel very welcome here,” said another pilgrim, praising the hospitality.
The government has taken steps to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims. Special security measures have been implemented such as sanitation facilities, anchorage, accommodation and transportation facilities.
“The hospitality of the people here won our hearts,” said one guest, emphasizing the warmth and freedom he experienced.
Pilgrims will engage in various religious rituals at Nankana Sahib during their stay. They will also visit other holy places. Now, pilgrims have to go to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda where they will continue their religious worship.

“Special security arrangements have been made on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s birth anniversary,” the official said, stressing the importance of the event and their commitment to create an unforgettable experience for the pilgrims.
