Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) district government failed to comply with notice to provide $16 bread.
The Islamabad district administration ordered the Nanbai association to sell bread at a low price, but failed to comply with the order.
Instead of selling bread at a lower price, the Nanbai Association sells them at the original and inflation-adjusted rate.
In Islamabad, the federal capital, bread is $25, nanba $30, and Nanbai has refused to reduce the price of bread and naan.
The price of bread is reduced to 16 rubles and the price of naan is reduced to 20 dollars. In the capital Lahore and Islamabad, there is a problem with the cost of bread.
On Wednesday, Punjab Food Minister and Punjab Government Spokesperson Azma Zahid Bukhari said that the district government has fulfilled 80 percent of the orders in Punjab and there is no tolerance for low prices of bread (roti and naan).
On Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif visited several tandoors in Murree to inspect and check the prices of bread. The PML-N-led Punjab government and the unity government in Islamabad have vowed to track down the offenders.
