TikTok has become one of the most popular social media apps in recent years, with millions of young people earning money through it. The app reached over one billion monthly users in 2021, and many young stars have emerged thanks to TikTok. However, you don’t necessarily need millions of followers to make money on TikTok. In fact, accounts with fewer followers can still earn money.
Here are several ways to earn money on TikTok and the follower requirements:
- Creator Rewards Program:
TikTok officially introduced the Creator Rewards Program in 2024, replacing the old Creator Fund. Currently, this program is available in countries such as the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, and Brazil, meaning Pakistani users are not eligible yet. To join, the user must be at least 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers, and have gained at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. - Subscriptions:
Previously available only to users streaming live on TikTok, the subscription feature is now open to all users over 18 years old (including in Pakistan) from September 2024. To be eligible, users must have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the past year. - Video Gifts:
This feature is available to users worldwide, including in Pakistan. To receive gifts from viewers, users must be at least 18 years old (19 in South Korea) and have at least 10,000 followers. Additionally, the account must be at least 30 days old and have posted at least one public video in the past 30 days. - Effect House Creator Rewards:
Currently available in countries like the USA, France, UK, Italy, and Germany, this program rewards users for the use of their effects in videos. To join, users must be at least 18 years old, and their effects must be used in at least 100,000 videos to earn money. This program is not yet available in Pakistan. - TikTok Creative Challenges:
In this program, users can partner with brands to create video advertisements. To join, users must be at least 18 years old and have at least 50,000 followers. - TikTok Live Income:
This feature is available to users worldwide, including in Pakistan. To earn from TikTok Live, users must be at least 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers, and have gained at least 100,000 unique video views in the past 30 days. - TikTok Series Program:
Eligible users can group their videos into albums and charge access fees. Pakistani users are eligible for this program. To qualify, users must be at least 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers, and have an account at least 30 days old. Additionally, they must have posted at least three public videos in the past 30 days, each with at least 1,000 views.
These programs provide various opportunities for TikTok users to monetize their content, even with smaller followings.
