Hiba Ali, the actor who once ruled the television screen with his mesmerizing performances, has made a remarkable comeback. Known for her iconic role in Dil Diya Dehleez, Hiba has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. After a brief hiatus, he is back with a bang, starring in hit dramas like Shiddat and Jaan Nisar.
Hiba’s return to the limelight was met with enthusiasm from her fans, but it was not without its problems. In a candid interview with Fuchsia, she opened up about her personal struggles, including her divorce and subsequent battle with depression.
“Just because you can’t see someone’s mental illness doesn’t mean it isn’t there,” Hiba stated grimly. “It’s not a personal failure. It can happen to your children, to your loved ones. People who suffer from depression commit suicide.”
She continued, “At least those of us dealing with it appreciate that we survived. It’s all very difficult and I don’t even let the people around me know that I’m going through a severe mental illness.” The actress explained that she refrains from talking about her struggle with depression because she doesn’t even get “sympathy”. “People will call it an attention-seeking ploy, that I’m getting some kind of mileage or perk, but it’s not.
Hiba hasn’t been shy about discussing her divorce, a topic that many in the public prefer to keep private. “It was always unplanned for me. I always wanted to live with my husband because he was the father of my son. I wanted to live with understanding. He was a good person. We just lacked an understanding of the basics. We couldn’t fight everyday over trivial things. We decided on a divorce over dinner.”
Hiba revealed the shock she felt when faced with a child custody case against her ex-husband. “Yes, I was shocked after the custody case. He used to think I distanced his son from him because he was apparently in Canada. It was up to our child to talk to his father or not. But we made a compromise. custody out court because I didn’t want to give up I told him he was just spending money I think I made a mistake getting married or I shouldn’t have gotten a divorce.
