Lahore: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has again banned the merger of Pakistani universities with public universities.
Universities have been directed by the HEC to refrain from granting new affiliations to colleges or institutes. All affiliate ads published on social media and print must be immediately withdrawn pending further notice of standard procedures.
The EC has warned that universities will not receive grants if they do not adhere to these guidelines.
It should be remembered that government universities had to suffer billions of rupees loss every year due to this ban last year. Vice chancellors of state universities have also approached the Punjab governor on this issue.
