Popular Pakistani actress Hania gave a heartwarming message at the Aamir Kashmir Hum Style Awards and called on other celebrities to use the power of social media to advocate for the rights of Gazans.
The event which honors personalities who have excelled in fashion, film, drama and sports, witnessed Aamir being felicitated with the ‘Best Actress on Television’ award. However, the actress chose to use her platform for obvious reasons, not just during her confession.
In a heartfelt speech after receiving the award, Amir thanked his parents, fans and friends for their support. However, he immediately launched a call to action, raising awareness of the dire situation in Gaza.
“Today, I want to raise my voice for innocent people of the Gaza. This is an important platform for all of us to raise our voice for Palestinian rights,” he said.
Highlighting the power social media has shown as an advocacy tool, Amir urged his peers in and out of fame to use the platform to amplify the voices of the oppressed.
“If you are famous or not, social media is a platform you can use for Gaza rights. Use your platform to speak for Gaza and make your voice heard around the world,” he said.
“Let us unite! Stay on the right side of history,” Amir concluded his address, making a clear plea for unity in the pursuit of peace.
The charisma of the actress resonated deeply with the audience, a strong reminder of the responsibility associated with influence and the possibility of positive change, even in the framework of the impressive award ceremony.
