ABBOTTABAD, PAKISTAN: The Galia Forest Division’s Abbottabad team has seized a vehicle carrying allegedly illegal timber during an operation against timber smuggling, according to the Forest Department.
The department said legal proceedings would be initiated against those involved under the relevant provisions of the applicable Forest Ordinance.
The operation forms part of efforts to curb illegal logging and timber transportation and protect forest resources in the region.
The Forest Department reiterated that action against illegal logging and timber smuggling would continue, emphasising that forest conservation is a shared responsibility.
