Fee introduced for domestic flights passengers

ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced a passenger charge on domestic flights. A notification has been issued in this regard.

A fee of Rs 100 has been introduced for individuals flying within the country.

In addition, passengers will be charged the newly added charges of RS100 at the time of booking the ticket, airline sources said.

The CAA has directed all airlines that it will be mandatory to collect the said amount from all domestic passengers at the time of booking.

In accordance with the directive, airlines will charge passengers the appropriate fees and submit the collected ticket fees to the Civil Aviation Authority

A formal notification has been issued to introduce collection of this fee from passengers on domestic flights.

The initiative comes under the Airport Charges Collection Ordinance, which came into effect on January 15, as per the CAA notification.
