Telecommunication service provider O2 has introduced an AI-based feature that will alert users about suspicious calls.
The British company stated that the new Call Defense feature uses adaptive AI to analyze the behavior of a call number to determine whether it is a legitimate call or a spam call.
If the feature deems the call to meet all the criteria for spam, a warning will appear on the user’s phone screen. However, users will still have the option to pick up the call or not.
This technology for identifying suspicious calls was developed by the security firm Hiya.
