ISLAMABAD, September 14, 2026: SoLF has successfully conducted a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) under the Training Adolescents and Youth for Action and Resilience (TAYAR) programme, aimed at strengthening young people’s capacity to respond to disasters, climate risks and emergencies.
The training was organised as part of the National Volunteer Corps (NVC) project of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, in collaboration with UNICEF Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), at SZABIST Islamabad.
The programme brought together Green Youth Movement (GYM) Captains and Vice-Captains from 13 universities across Islamabad, Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Participants received practical knowledge and facilitation skills covering disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, anticipatory action, climate resilience and community engagement. The training was designed to enable the participants to share their learning with fellow students, communities and GYM chapters at their respective universities.
The initiative highlights the growing role of young people in building climate-resilient and disaster-ready communities. By strengthening youth leadership and practical skills, the programme aims to help young volunteers play a more active role before, during and after emergencies.
The organisers said the training would help equip young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to take meaningful action and contribute to safer, stronger and more resilient communities across Pakistan.
