Sheikhupura: Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Punjab conducted a field inspection of a steel mill in Sheikhupura to assess its environmental compliance, industrial practices and waste management arrangements.
During the visit, the EPA chief reviewed the facility’s operational practices and measures aimed at controlling environmental impacts associated with industrial activity. Particular attention was given to waste handling and management practices, as well as efforts to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
The inspection forms part of the Punjab EPA’s ongoing field monitoring and enforcement activities aimed at reducing industrial pollution and promoting environmentally responsible operations across the province.
The EPA has been emphasizing improved compliance among industrial units, particularly measures that can help minimize air, water and solid-waste pollution and support cleaner production practices.
Officials stressed that industrial growth must be accompanied by responsible environmental management and adherence to prescribed standards.
