A new study suggests that people trying to lose weight should consider eating more dried fruit. Studies have reported that people who eat 1.5 to 3 ounces of almonds, chickpeas, pistachios or walnuts daily have more weight loss than those who don’t.
The results showed that people who followed a diet rich in nuts lost 3 to 16 pounds more than those who did not include nuts in their diet.
Nuts are rich in healthy fats, plant-based protein, and fiber, all of which contribute to satiety and keep excess calories at bay. In addition, they play a beneficial role in cardiovascular health, nutrition and digestion, and cognitive function.
