Afghanistan’s Kandahar province has been rocked by a tragic suicide blast that claimed lives and caused destruction. According to reports from the Taliban government, the explosion claimed the lives of three people and injured twelve others. The incident took place near a bank where civilians had gathered for various purposes.
However, the British media, particularly the BBC, reported a significantly higher death toll with claims of at least 21 dead. The explosion occurred in a bank branch crowded with Afghan civil servants waiting for their salaries.
The aftermath of the blast saw a quick response, with the injured immediately rushed to Mirwais Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the severity of the attack, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the heinous act, leaving many questions unanswered.

It is worth noting that Kandahar is of strategic importance as a stronghold of the Taliban and the seat of their top commander, Haibatullah Akhunzada. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing challenges Afghanistan faces in its quest for stability and peace.
