Citizens Appreciate CDA’s excellent efforts and Electric Bus Service for Providing Convenient Transportation Across Different Routes

Islamabad, October 14, 2026: On the directions and vision of Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and under the leadership of Sohail Ashraf, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), the CDA continues to expand and improve modern, safe, comfortable, and environment-friendly public transportation facilities in Islamabad through its electric bus service.

The initiative aims to provide citizens with reliable, affordable, and convenient transportation across different routes of the federal capital, while promoting sustainable urban mobility and contributing to the reduction of vehicular emissions.

Citizens have expressed appreciation for CDA’s electric bus service, acknowledging the convenience and accessibility of modern public transportation facilities available across various routes of Islamabad. The service is facilitating daily commuters, students, employees, and other residents by providing a comfortable and reliable means of reaching their destinations. Public appreciation reflects the importance of efficient and accessible transport services in meeting the everyday mobility needs of the city’s residents.

Currently, 160 electric buses are operating across 21 routes, with daily ridership of approximately 150,000 passengers. CDA aims to increase daily ridership to approximately 250,000 passengers by further expanding public transport coverage and encouraging citizens to use environmentally responsible transportation.

Alongside the expansion of the electric bus fleet, CDA is developing supporting infrastructure, including modern bus depots and electric charging facilities, to ensure efficient operations and service reliability. The newly inaugurated electric bus depot has been designed to accommodate 64 charging units, supporting the operational requirements of the expanding electric bus network.

The expansion of electric bus services represents an important step towards modernising Islamabad’s public transportation system. Electric mobility can help reduce local vehicular emissions, improve the urban environment, and offer commuters a comfortable alternative to private transportation.

CDA continues to focus on improving route coverage, operational efficiency, charging infrastructure, and passenger convenience to ensure that public transport services meet the growing needs of Islamabad’s population. Feedback and appreciation from citizens remain important in assessing the convenience, accessibility, and reliability of these services.

Under the directions and vision of Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the leadership of Chairman CDA Sohail Ashraf, CDA remains committed to providing modern, accessible, and environment-friendly transportation facilities to the residents of Islamabad, contributing to a cleaner, greener, better-connected, and more liveable federal capital.
