A new study has revealed that camel milk could be a better alternative to traditional cow’s milk due to its antimicrobial and anti-allergenic properties.
Researchers from Edith Cowan University in Australia have found that camel milk naturally contains active short protein molecules that are more effective than those in cow’s milk. The study, published in the Journal of Food Chemistry, confirmed that camel milk has a higher capacity to produce molecules with antimicrobial and antihypertensive properties.
According to the researchers, these active compounds can target specific pathogens, improving gut health and potentially reducing the risk of heart disease in the future.
