Now, every year on May 20, people all over the world gather to celebrate World Honey Bee Day. The date was chosen as the birthday of Anton Ansans, a pioneer of modern agriculture. World Bee Day aims to promote steps to protect bees and their habitats, as well as highlight the importance of honey bees in protecting biodiversity, stabilizing ecosystems and securing the food supply chain. This alarming increase is caused by a variety of factors, including habitat loss, an ever-changing climate and harmful agricultural chemicals. People in Pakistan do not know much about World Honey Bee Day and celebrate it as it is today. World Bee Day 2023 is being celebrated in Pakistan, ‘Pollinator Bee-Friendly Agricultural Production’. This year 2024, Zoology Department, Lahore University of Zoology, Lahore Women University will actively celebrate World Bee Day to create awareness among students and community. This day is celebrated in accordance with the motto of the United Nations, which is “The purpose of commemorating Bee Day is to celebrate the safety of honey bees, which are important for our safety.”
