A British technology company has developed an air taxi capable of covering the distance from Manchester to Leeds in record time.
The tech company, Vertical Aerospace, is testing a fully electric aircraft designed to reduce travel time. The VX4 aircraft appears to be a blend of a helicopter and a jet plane, but technically, it does not feature characteristics of either. Officially, it is an eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aircraft.
Michael Servinka, the company’s CTO, said, “We are in an extremely exciting time for aerospace. Since the jet age, we have seen significant changes in the safety and performance of aerospace.”
He added, “When we think about aerospace, most of us envision aircraft for long distances. However, we would prefer to use aircraft to avoid city traffic.”
