The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has mandated that expiry dates must be written on eggs.
According to BFA officials, to completely eliminate the sale and supply of spoiled or stale eggs, it is now required that expiry dates be written on both eggs and their packaging. Additionally, eggs must be fresh and clean.
Suppliers, wholesale traders, and general retailers have been warned that from August 31, 2024, they must display the expiry date on eggs sold at their establishments and keep a complete record of the eggs supplied.
The announcement states that any violation of these orders will result in strict legal action under the BFA Act 2014. The public is also urged to avoid purchasing eggs without expiry dates and to report any sales of such eggs to the Balochistan Food Authority immediately.
