ATTOCK: The district administration has accelerated work on beautification and urban greening projects under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Beautification Programme, aiming to transform Attock into a cleaner, greener and more attractive city.
According to the district administration, a range of development and landscaping initiatives are underway to improve the city’s appearance and provide residents with a healthier and more pleasant environment.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anil Saeed said the administration is giving special attention to urban beautification, cleanliness, tree plantation and the improvement of public spaces in line with the chief minister’s vision.
He said landscaping and beautification work is progressing on major roads, public squares, green belts and around government buildings, while efforts are also being intensified to expand the district’s tree plantation campaign.
Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, Anil Saeed noted that Pakistan is facing serious climate challenges, including rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, droughts and floods. He said increasing green cover and promoting environmentally sustainable practices are essential to mitigating the impacts of climate change.
He added that the Beautification Programme will not only enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal but also contribute to environmental protection and climate resilience by expanding urban greenery.
The ADCG urged citizens to support the district administration by maintaining cleanliness, planting trees and protecting public property to help make Attock a clean, green and environmentally friendly district.
He reaffirmed that the district administration remains committed to implementing development and public welfare projects and utilizing all available resources to improve civic facilities and the quality of life for residents.
