MARDAN: Regarding Anti-Corruption Day, a one-day seminar was organized under the supervision of the Provost Office of Abdul Wali Khan University with the support of the District Administration and the District Youth Office, in which competitions were held among the students of Abdul Wali Khan University in five activities of Urdu and English speech, Urdu and English essay writing and poster painting. Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Syed Fahad Iftikhar, District Youth Officer Usman Khan, professors, lecturers, media representatives and a large number of university students participated in the anti-corruption seminar. Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir said that everyone should start accountability from themselves to eliminate corruption that we should adopt the light of self-accountability in the light of the teachings of our ancestors to create a corruption-free society. He said that today’s day is celebrated globally against corruption and corruption and hatred/dislike against corruption and corruption is expressed collectively in the whole world on this day. Corruption has become a scourge for the society, civilized societies never suffer from any expediency to eliminate deadly diseases like corruption and corruption in their state system and social attitudes and instead of handing over their generations to corrupt elements they should remove corruption from their society. Let’s try together to end the curse, We also have to unite against corruption with the determination and certainty that a corruption-free society is the only guarantee for the survival of our generations. At the end of the seminar, the Deputy Commissioner took a pledge from the audience to play their role in eradicating corruption. Trophies and certificates were given to the students who got the first, second and third positions in the best speeches and painting. Honorary shields were also presented to the judges. The participants also carried out an important walk regarding the Anti-Corruption Day, the participants carried placards and banners with anti-corruption slogans written on them.
