KARACHI: Pakistani occultist Abrar Ahmed’s long-term injury was a result of his constant neglect of the medical board’s instructions, his medical report has revealed.
Abrar was injured for the same reason in Australia during a practice match against the Prime Minister’s XI and was ruled out of the entire three-match Test series.
The medical report stated that the spinner’s long-term injury was the result of neglecting the doctors’ instructions.
It further revealed that he had sciatica – a condition that involves pain, numbness or tingling in the leg.
According to a report, the spinner complained of pain in his right hip during the 2023 ICC World Cup in India. He was immediately tested and then diagnosed with sciatica.
After the diagnosis, the medical staff prepared a recovery plan for the spinner, in which he was instructed to observe restrictions on various exercises and exercises.
The report stated that the 25-year-old had disobeyed the instructions after which the team management again urged the spinner to follow the orders of the medical board but nothing changed.

According to the report, Abrar got injured for the same reason in Australia during a practice match against the Prime Minister’s XI and was then ruled out of the series altogether.
Abrar bowled a total of 27 overs during the four-day practice match against PM XI where he also picked up a wicket. At the end of the third day, he complained of some discomfort in his right leg, for which an MRI was performed.
After a few days, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the 25-year-old would miss the first two Tests, but before the start of the Sydney Test, Abrar was ruled out of the final match as well.
Abrar is currently continuing his rehabilitation at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will miss Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand starting on January 12 in Auckland.
