ISLAMABAD: Chairman Tehreek-e-Jawanan Pakistan Muhammad Abdullah Hamid Gul has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by heavy rains and rain-related incidents in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In a statement, Abdullah Hamid Gul extended his condolences and sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives and expressed solidarity with all communities affected by the severe weather.
He said ordinary citizens face the greatest difficulties during natural disasters and stressed that the government and relevant institutions must accelerate and better coordinate relief operations in affected areas.
He called for immediate provision of financial and humanitarian assistance, safe shelter, food, clean drinking water and essential medical facilities to affected families.
In view of the possibility of further rainfall and adverse weather, Gul urged all relevant departments to strengthen emergency preparedness and take precautionary measures to prevent additional loss of life and property.
He also stressed the need to ensure the timely availability of rescue teams, medical personnel and essential machinery in vulnerable and high-risk areas.
The chairman called for effective coordination among district administrations, rescue services and other relevant departments so that assistance could reach people in need without delay.
Gul urged the government to conduct a comprehensive assessment of rain-related damages and take immediate and effective measures for the rehabilitation of affected families.
He further emphasized the need for a long-term strategy to reduce the impact of natural disasters and strengthen preparedness and resilience in vulnerable areas.
