Following the tragic terrorist attack on employees of Dasu Hydropower Project in Shangla’s Besham, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has strongly condemned the incident and demanded a thorough investigation along with strict punishment of the culprits.
The attack, which claimed the lives of at least six persons, including five Chinese nationals, occurred when a suicide bomber attacked a vehicle carrying Chinese nationals, Malakand Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) informed.
The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan confirmed the unfortunate death of five Chinese citizens and one Pakistani citizen in the attack.
The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Pakistan expressed their deep condolences and sincere condolences to the victims and their families and assured that they are actively cooperating with the Pakistani authorities to deal with the aftermath of the incident.
In a statement issued shortly after the attack, the Chinese Embassy stressed the immediate need for a comprehensive investigation into the matter and called for the swift capture and punishment of those responsible for committing this heinous act of violence.
In addition, the embassy announced that an emergency plan was immediately activated to deal with the situation, underscoring the paramount importance of ensuring the safety and security of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in Pakistan. Measures were quickly put in place to strengthen security measures and prevent similar incidents in the future.
Additionally, in light of heightened security risks, the embassy reminded Chinese citizens and businesses operating in Pakistan to remain vigilant, strengthen security protocols and strictly follow security measures to mitigate potential threats.
