RAWALPINDI: Dr. Daniel Saud of South Dakota State University (SDSU), Brookings, USA, visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) to explore opportunities for strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
During the visit, Dr. Saud met Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, who welcomed the visiting scholar and briefed him on the university’s academic programmes, research strengths and international linkages.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted PMAS-AAUR’s focus on innovation and technology-driven solutions to challenges facing the agriculture and environment sectors. He also emphasised the importance of international partnerships in expanding research opportunities and sharing knowledge.
Dr. Saud visited various research facilities at the university and expressed interest in developing mutually beneficial institutional linkages with PMAS-AAUR.
Both sides stressed the importance of international academic cooperation in promoting joint research, knowledge exchange and new opportunities for students and researchers.
The proposed collaboration could also support research on sustainable agriculture and environmental challenges by connecting expertise and research capacity from Pakistan and the United States.
The visit highlighted the growing importance of academic partnerships in developing innovative and sustainable solutions to agricultural and environmental challenges.
