KARACHI: Around 50 fishermen were rescued when their boat capsized in the sea near Karachi due to strong winds and high waves at sea.
A group of fishermen left Ibrahim Haidari for Hajimar, an area between Karachi and Thatta, to fish early in the morning, but due to strong winds, their boat turned into a turtle.
“A fishing boat capsized in the Arabian Sea carrying around 50 fishermen,” a Coastal Media Center spokesman said.

The incident occurred due to the mistake of a fisherman who threw a net in the wrong direction of the ship’s captain in the midst of strong waves.
“The captain of the boat threw the fishing net on the wrong side of the boat,” said Nasir Buneri, a company official. “All the fishermen suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Employees of the Fishery Cooperative were present at the site, he added.
Boats were dispatched from Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi’s main fishing settlement, to search for the fishermen missing in the incident.
