LAHORE: Dr. Mehwish Arooj, Representative and Principal of the University College of Medicine and Industry at the University of Lahore, has highlighted the importance of stronger environmental governance and coordinated climate action in Punjab.
Speaking about the province’s environmental initiatives, Dr. Mehwish Arooj appreciated the leadership’s focus on evidence-based measures to address environmental and climate challenges.
She said stronger environmental governance can help Punjab respond more effectively to issues such as pollution, climate risks and environmental degradation.
She also emphasized the need for universities, the private sector and citizens to work together to protect the environment.
Environmental protection, she noted, is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation among government institutions, academic organizations, businesses and communities.
