Mardan Wildlife Department Engages Local Community After Tragic Incident

MARDAN: Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Mardan Division Izaz Ali Shah visited Tazagram, Kasmi, Mardan, on October 7 and met with members of the local community following a recent tragic incident involving a death.

During the visit, the DFO also met the family of the deceased and expressed his condolences and sympathy over their loss. He prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the bereaved family, assuring them that the Wildlife Department would stand with them during the difficult time and provide all possible support.

An awareness session was also held for local residents regarding the incident. Community members were briefed on precautionary measures when encountering wildlife and the importance of immediately informing the relevant authorities about the presence of any wild animal in populated areas.

The DFO directed wildlife field staff to continue search operations in the area in coordination with the local community and police department.

He further instructed the field teams to take immediate necessary action if any wildlife presence is detected, while ensuring the safety of both local residents and wildlife.

The Wildlife Mardan Division emphasized the importance of community cooperation, timely reporting and responsible wildlife management to reduce the risks associated with human-wildlife encounters.

Such coordination can also help protect wildlife habitats while promoting safer coexistence between communities and wild animals.
